Razakar-E-Moharram

Keeping the islamic tradition of Moharram as a backdrop, the film documents the inter-personal relationships of various participants who facilitate this practice, in the city of Bidar. The city is located in the north of Karnataka, where Moharram observation is syncretic in nature. Moharram here becomes the connecting thread and forms a lens through which the viewers are introduced to the various castes coexisting in Bidar. A further attempt has been made to understand how the binaries of Hindu and Muslim dissolve once the caste system comes into play.
